Charlie's Little Free Library
One of our favorite ways to remember Charlie is through her books.
Located at the rear of the parking lot of Mt. Sinai Congregational Church, Charlie's Little Free Library is open to everyone. Whether you take a book, leave a book, or simply stop by to visit, we hope it brings a little comfort, kindness, and connection.
After Charlie's funeral, Brian and I found ourselves visiting her almost every day. Some days were planned, while others happened on a whim. We often brought books from the nursery we had lovingly prepared for her -books filled with handwritten notes from family and friends who couldn't wait to meet her. Reading to Charlie became one of the ways we continued to parent her, even after she was gone.
One day, we imagined creating a place where others could do the same.
A place where families could borrow a story to read beside their baby.
A place where children could discover a new favorite book.
A place where neighbors could share kindness through something as simple as leaving behind a book for the next person.
That dream became Charlie's Little Free Library.
Today, the library is lovingly cared for by our family and our community.
You're invited to take a book, leave a book, or simply spend a quiet moment with Charlie or your very own loved one.
Whether you're reading to your own child, remembering a baby who should be here, or simply passing through, we hope you'll know you're always welcome.
Thank you for helping us keep Charlie's story alive - one book at a time.
